Head of Advertising - Discovery
Over the past 25 years Immaculata Segooa has built her career building brands in various disciplines, making her start in the marketing profession. She is a chartered marketer and provides her expertise in retail, motor, telecommunications, financial services, and insurance. As Head of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) at Discovery, Immaculata, is responsible for leading integration of marketing communication across all brand touchpoints through brand design, advertising and media, content management, and operations for the Discovery brand and its product verticals.
Immaculata is passionate about the role of marketing in business as a science, art, and craft and actively participates in numerous marketing boards, including MASA, the ABC, the MRF, and the Vega Advisory Council to drive this.
She is also a shared value advocate and believes that now more than ever, the role of business in society should pivot on profit with purpose. She is a member of the Shared Value Africa Initiative Steering Committee (SVAI) and was a judge for the Shared Value category at the Loeries in 2019.
Her life mantra is that, “In the same way that fruit trees do not consume their own fruit, our purpose in life is to serve others.”
