Kagiso Musi

Kagiso Musi, CEO of WPP Media SSA, is an experienced business leader and board director with expertise in strategy, governance, marketing, digital transformation and commercial growth. She has extensive executive leadership experience across Africa and currently serves on listed and private company boards, providing oversight on strategy, stakeholder engagement and long-term value creation. She brings a strong track record of driving business performance, building high-performing teams and navigating complex operating environments, while applying independent judgement and sound governance principles.

She holds deep expertise in advertising, media and brand strategy. Her career spans leadership roles in some of Africa’s most influential creative and communications agencies, where she has driven growth, transformation and creative excellence.

As a former Group Managing Director of The Jupiter Drawing Room, Kagiso led one of South Africa’s iconic creative agencies, steering it through strategic reinvention and operational excellence. She has served on executive and advisory boards, contributing to governance and strategy in sectors spanning media, marketing and corporate transformation.

Recognised for her ability to bridge creativity and commercial performance, Kagiso’s leadership is underpinned by a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, brand-building in emerging markets, and the power of integrated communication ecosystems. Her boardroom focus is on strategic innovation, organisational culture, and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion across industries.

Kagiso holds multiple leadership and advisory roles in the marketing and communications industry, including: Vice Chair – Advertising and Communication Association, Board Member – ACA, Chairperson – Effie Awards South Africa (2021–2023), Advisory Board Member – The Mark Awards, Non-Executive Director – Vuyani Dance Company, and juror roles for Cannes Lions, Effie Awards – Global Best-of-the-Best, The Annual, and as Jury President for Whitesquare. She has also contributed as a trustee, council member and board member to several organisations shaping the creative and media landscape in Africa.
