Curator of “glocal” brand experiences, Liz is a seasoned pan-African brand builder. With more than 13 years of experience in the FMCG industry, Liz has harnessed the art and science of marketing to deliver sustainable brand growth.
Liz has grown and transformed numerous billion-dollar brands in Africa including Always, Pampers, Duracell, Ariel, Handy Andy and Domestos. She is passionate about demonstrating the effectiveness of creativity in growing brands.
Currently, Liz leads the innovation and transformational growth strategy for HomeCare Africa at Unilever, expanding the footprint of brands like Sunlight, Omo and Domestos on the continent. She summarises her career aspiration simply: “Giving global brands an African passport, whilst giving African brands global exposure.”
As an intersectional feminist, Liz is passionate about women’s equal involvement in all spheres of society. She serves on the Global Unstereotype Alliance to help shatter stereotypes in the marketing and communications industry, and volunteers her time on advisory councils for Red and Yellow, IAB and Effies South Africa.
In her personal life, Liz is a mother of two, wife, big sister and daughter. She is naturally curious and finds joy in exploring the bounties of African creativity through fashion, literature, music and food. She is currently enrolled in a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Transformation.
